The second edition of Seagriculture USA 2023, a prominent conference in the seaweed industry, took place in Portland, Maine on September 6 & 7. The conference welcomed 293 participants from 18 countries.

Seaweed cultivation in the US is showing promise in terms of growth, however challenges in regulations, cost, and market viability could affect the pace of this growth in the future. The Seagriculture conferences focus on addressing those challenges in the seaweed industry, fostering collaboration among various stakeholders, and emphasizing the importance of sustainable practices, innovation, research, and regulatory adaptability for long-term success.

The USA edition comes in addition to the European conference which takes place every year in another country in Europe. By adding Seagriculture USA to the portfolio the organizers want to make a positive impact on the seaweed industry and community and make the connection between Europe and North America enabling industry professionals to learn from one another.

The SOMMET DE L’ÉLEVAGE has become one of the largest trade fairs in the world dedicated to agriculture and animal production. Every year at the beginning of October in Clermont-Ferrand (in the center of France), the SOMMET brings together more than 1,500 exhibitors from 32 countries, 100,000 visitors from 90 countries and 2,000 animals from 70 breeds (cattle, sheep and horses).
